Meet Lorna

At the wise old age of three, Lorna decided to give up ballet for swimming- and has regretted it ever since; particularly after seeing Wicked in the fourth grade.

The process of telling stories is what excites Lorna. To whisk people away for a while and feed them with different stories, thoughts, and feelings, is something she believes to be a fundamental human need.

Due to this belief, she spent her childhood doing musical theatre, eventually receiving her BS in Digital Communications at Oregon State University, where she also minored in theatre. It was from this program that Lorna realized her love of directing and discovered she couldn't spend the rest of her life not following her dream of being an actor.

This drove her to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, one of the world’s top three drama schools, where she received her Master’s in Musical Theatre Performance. Lorna trained under skilled industry professionals- not only in performance skills but in the theatre business as well.

At her core, she longs to tell stories and make people smile. As a recent graduate of RCS, she is prepared to take the next steps and bring her creative spin to the industry. She is currently seeking representation.

“Lorna Baxter’s physical and expressive comedy, which lightened an otherwise drama-heavy show- she was a delight to watch.”

“phenomenal performances by the entire cast, and it would not feel out of place in a West End theatre.”

“They and Lorna Baxter as the milder stepsister, also very good, convey the entitlement and opportunism that drives the evil in this story and that is also quite shiftable even without a convincing transformation.”

"Even the most cynical audience members may find themselves wiping away a tear or two," says Darleen Ortega for Oregon ArtsWatch.
